A Puckerbrush Adios

At the Secret Hideout

A few years back, maybe 2014 or so,  I predicted 12 hour guard shacks would one day replace the couple working out of their RV onsite.  Seems like I  was right.   Local residents and single folks paying to stay in RV parks filled the ranks.  Oh, there is still (some) demand for RVs onsite and I am sure some Winter Texans this winter will find positions.  The unsettling trend I am seeing now is security companies working their guards out of their personal vehicles for a 12hr shift.  Used to be, this setup was reserved for

There and Back Again

What I did on my vacation

It is always a relief to make the 550 mile round trip to the Secret Hideout without catastrophe; especially so in the heat of the summer.  The trip was made easier due to two factors.  I left here and all my outside gear stayed in place.   All the lights, water system, front porch, utility table and even down to the high dollar Dakota Alert driveway alarms. I just unhooked the umbilicals from the NO Princess Palace and pulled outta the slot.  Tennessee Red and her husband just pulled right in and they were
