Mark One Chore Off the List

I returned back to the job near Calvert late Monday – as late as I could because my black tank was just getting fuller and fuller with no where to go.  14 days of occupation since I had last dumped the tank.

The disparate parts of a septic install

Today was the day that was going to change. We generally put in a 300 gallon tank. The septic systems don’t get alot of use when I am here because I am frugal and once we are gone they will only get intermittent use. No sense over-engineering the system.

Some days you’re the bug…

Some days you’re the windshield…

I was finally on my way,  just easing along, taking my time and being easy on the equipment.  I had 3 good sized towns to negotiate with my 53 foot rig and I was being super, super cautious.

Several trips across Hwy 190 between Jasper and College Station have resulted in a practiced routine.  I have my special pit stops.    I stop at the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Store to buy cigarettes, next stop is Bubba’s just east of Huntsville.  Bubba’s is close to a job we did two years ago and was my beer store for that job.

Thanks for the Memories….

BEFORE- Acres of impenetrable brush and miles of pine trees

One of the things about getting older is the time just seems to fly by!  It does not seem like I have been here north of Newton, Tx for 51 weeks.   Don’t get me wrong,  it has been a good run here.  Nice people, a great job near completion and a profitable endeavor. Can’t really ask more than that now can you?  The only negative aspect was the distance to the sticks and bricks in Dallas.  280 miles one way is not a casual trip.

Four Star RV Parking – Sorta Kinda

The property owner moved his Jayco to the property a few days ago and it was my assignment to help him get things set up. It is going to be here on a near permanent basis so we wanted to make sure it was set up correctly. He is fairly new to recreational vehicles so our help was well received.

We had planned the RV parking area to accommodate 3 -4 recreational vehicles and his designated spot worked out nicely.
