Tobacco Road -- Life in the Boondocks

Sometimes I think my boondocking locations must look like those trashy houses you see with a couch on the front porch and off in the side yard, an old Dodge Diplomat with no wheels sitting on chunks of wood.

Then I think in a more logical fashion. We are not here to preserve a pristine area as unspoiled. Our job is to rip and tear and gouge and transform the landscape into something noticeably different. My boondocking RV sites are utilitarian, spartan and all about business.

Scrounging and Recycling

What do you do when it rains 6 inches and your whole world centers around an aging diesel pusher motor home with a scant 200 square feet of living space? If you were me, you would pull on the rubber boots and go “piddle around” the base camp.

The past few days has been productive even though I have not even been in the cab of a dozer since last week. I engineered the Deluxe Mud Porch and Hard Cased Stinky Slinky for the property owner.  I have been working mounting the Yagi directional antenna for the Ultimate Internet

Four Star RV Parking – Sorta Kinda

The property owner moved his Jayco to the property a few days ago and it was my assignment to help him get things set up. It is going to be here on a near permanent basis so we wanted to make sure it was set up correctly. He is fairly new to recreational vehicles so our help was well received.

We had planned the RV parking area to accommodate 3 -4 recreational vehicles and his designated spot worked out nicely.
